FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
LVL Lash Lift
Does the LVL Lash Lift damage your natural lashes?
-LVL products have been carefully developed to enhance your lash health & strength, while minimising the risk of damage. The LVL products are packed with vital ingredients like collagen & oats, and the moisturising conditioner is applied to nourish lashes. Nouveau trained lash artists like myself are specifically trained to use the LVL Lash Lift treatment, prioritising the health of your lashes.
Can you wear mascara with the LVL Lash Lift?
-It’s completely safe to further enhance your lashes by wearing mascara, however you must wait atleast 24-48 hours after treatment to do so.
Can you get the LVL Lash Lift wet?
-Avoid getting your lashes wet or hot (e.g. steam) for atleast 24-48 hours after treatment. This is because your lash lift can take upto 48 hours to lock into place, so the lift can drop if the lashes get wet too soon. After this initial time period however, there are no restrictions and you can continue to shower, swim, use saunas etc without needing to protect the eye area.
How long shall I leave between LVL Lash Lift appointments/ How long does the LVL Lash Lift last?
-LVL Lash Lift lasts 6-8 weeks. You can have the LVL Lash Lift done a minimum of 5 weeks after your last Lash Lift. However you can have a Lash Tint sooner than this, to darken the lash line & keep your Lash Lift enhanced.
Is there an age limit for LVL Lash Lift?
-Anyone from the age of 18+ can have the LVL Lash Lift.
Lash Extensions
Do lash extensions damage your natural lashes?
-As a Nouveau Lash Artist I am trained to use exclusive techniques like the ‘weight for weight’ lash guidance. This ensures lash extensions won’t weigh down natural lashes, as the length, strength & thickness of your individual lashes will be assessed to choose the appropriate size lash extensions for you.
I also use the highest quality lash extensions which are soft and lightweight, to put your lash health first.
Professional lash artists like myself are trained to carefully separate each lash when applying extensions. This allows your lashes to grow out as they normally would. If lashes are incorrectly applied & stuck together, this would cause irritation, prevent normal lash growth & damage your natural lashes.
Therefore it is extremely important to go to a certified lash artist like myself for lash treatments, and to follow the aftercare advice provided.
How long do lash extensions last? How often are infills required?
-In your natural lash cycle, new lashes begin to grow, while older lashes naturally fall out every 6-8 weeks. Lash extensions are applied on each separate natural lash, which means the extensions grow out with your natural lash cycle.
This is why half-set infills are required every 2-3 weeks, as they top up the lashes that have fallen out, to keep them looking full.
It is important that you don’t pull out lash extensions yourself, as this can cause damage to the hair follicle.
If you do not wish to maintain your lash extensions, it’s recommended to have them removed either professionally by me, or using the lash extensions remover (see retail products).
Can you get lash extensions wet?
-It can take 24 hours for the glue to fully set. Therefore, don’t get lashes wet & avoid steam or saunas for atleast 24 hours after lash extensions have been applied. Otherwise water, steam & heat can cause the bond in the glue to break down, which can make the lash extensions fall out or become loose.
After this initial time period it is important to regularly keep lashes clean with water. You can shower & swim, but ensure you brush your lashes as soon as they have dried off. You will be given a lash brush in your appointment.
Can you still wear makeup with lash extensions?
-You can still wear eye makeup such as eye liners & eye shadow with lash extensions. However if you wish to add mascara to lash extensions, it’s important that you only use the Nouveau Enhance Mascara (see retail products), as this is especially developed for lash extensions & can be easily removed with water.
It is strongly advised to only use oil-free makeup & removers around the eye area, otherwise oils can break down the bonds in the lash glue, causing extensions to become loose or fall out.
It’s important that if you decide to wear makeup, it is properly removed & lashes are kept clean, for example by using the Lash & Lid Cleansing Set (see retail products).
Can you curl lash extensions?
-You cannot use mechanical lash curlers on lash extensions, as they are too harsh & can damage your lashes. I stock a wide range of lash extensions, all in different lengths, thicknesses and curls, so can apply a more dramatic curl depending on your desired look.
How do you remove lash extensions?
-If you do not wish to maintain your lash extensions, it’s recommended to have them removed either professionally by me, or using the lash extensions remover (see retail products).
Is there an age limit for lash extensions?
-Anyone from the age of 18+ can have lash extensions.
Brows
How is HiBrow different from other brow shape treatments?
-A HiBrow appointment usually lasts around 40 minutes in contrast to a wax/threading appointment which lasts 10 minutes.
HiBrow is a much more detailed treatment using methods such as face mapping to achieve a look best suited to you.
How can I get the best results out of my HiBrow appointment?
-It’s strongly recommended to grow your brows for as long as possible before the HiBrow treatment, so that I have more hair growth to work with. Having less regrowth will limit the results that can be achieved.
Also, have a think beforehand about the overall look you would like to achieve with your brows.
Finally, be realistic in your expectations e.g. if you have sparse, overplucked brows but want to achieve a full, thick brow, this will take time & commitment to multiple treatments.
Is HiBrow permanent?
-Like other brow shaping & tinting, HiBrow is a semi-permanent treatment lasting 2-6 weeks depending on your natural brow growth.
Can I wear makeup or moisturise my face after HiBrow?
-Avoid wearing makeup or moisturiser on the waxed brow area for 24 hours after treatment as the skin will be sensitive.
How long should I leave between appointments?
-Depending on natural brow growth, it is recommended to have a HiBrow Top-Up every 2-6 weeks. Any longer & this will be classed as a HiBrow Revamp appointment.
Can you make my eyebrows thicker?
-I can help make eyebrows appear thicker through methods of defining & tinting, but cannot make them physically thicker in one appointment. Over time we can work on growing out areas of your brows, while shaping them where necessary, so that ultimately you achieve the best results possible.
If you have overplucked, sparse brows, it may be possible that hair won’t grow in certain areas if the hair follicles have been damaged. Using the Lash & Brow Conditioner (see retail products) can help to condition the brow area to encourage growth.
Will tinting make my brows look very dark?
-I stock a range of tint colours to ensure that the colour used is best suited to your skin & hair colour, along with your desired end result. For example, if you have fair hair & skin, I would apply a lighter tint rather than a dark brown or black. We will discuss how you would like the tint to look prior to treatment.
Is brow tinting permanent?
-No, brow tinting is a semi-permanent treatment that lasts around 2-4 weeks. Every time you wash your face, a little bit of the tint will be removed.
Is there an age limit for HiBrow?
-Anyone from the age of 18+ can have HiBrow.
